Five times to replace
These are the situations where lock replacement is strongly recommended.
- You just moved into a new home — you do not know who has copies of the old keys
- You lost a key or had it stolen
- Someone attempted to break in — even if they did not succeed, the cylinder may be damaged
- Your cylinder is more than 10 years old and lacks anti-pick or anti-bump protection
- You want to upgrade to a higher SKG security level
When you can wait
If your existing cylinder is recent, SKG-certified and works smoothly, there is usually no need to replace it just because of age.
